Exhibition opening at Institut français du Cambodge

For the first time, The animation studio 1000 Hands invites you to discover the secrets of animation filmmaking 2D, spanning all stages of its creation.
The opening of the exhibition « En Mouvement » will held February, Thursday 2nd at 6.30 pm at l’Institut français du Cambodge, street 184 # 218, Phnom Penh.
February, Friday 3, 7 pm, on the Diamond Island in Phnom Penh, come to attend an animation movies projection in the frame of the Annecy International animation movie festival, with creations of 1000 Hands, Ecole Pivaut, and 03D ASIA.

Artist Talk by Srey Bandol

Artist Srey Bandaul recently returned from a 5 month residency in New York.  During this time he was hosted by the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council (LMCC), through a new partnership with the Asian Cultural Council (ACC).
In this talk, at Romeet Gallery, Bandaul will discuss his experience working in New York including the two exhibitions he presented there, Memory of Smoke at Topaz Art Gallery and Looking at Angkor at LMCC's Arts Center, Governors Island.

Hour Seyah opening and Q and A at Romeet Gallery

seyha_romeet_6Hour Seyah is a talented former student of Phare Ponleu Selpak visual art school.

The 7th December was the opening of its first solo exhibition at the Romeet Gallery. This exhibition, called Waiting for Sunrise presents a serie of paintings that explore a deeply personal story. The artist, working in a unique blend of abstract expressionism and figuration.  This body of work explores the complexities of Hour’s experience working in Thailand as a child. Hours's chosen title for the exhibition, Waiting for Sunrise, invites a bright fuure, which sits sombrely next to the dark hues of this body of work and the period of he artist's life it is recalling.
The 17th December, he welcomed his audience at the Romeet Gallery for a Q and A session about his exhibition, art and ideas.

The exhibition is open until the 15th of January at the Romeet Gallery, st.178 at Phnom Penh

 

Friendship Festival 2011: more than 5000 people during the week end!

The 9th and 10th December, Phare Ponleu Selpak hosted the 3rd edition of the Friendship Festival. Two days of entertainment for everyone: locals, expats, tourists, young as old people.

On these 2 days, recognized stars have shared the stage with rising stars as with artists from PPS.
Thanks a lot to all artists who were here: Preap Sovath, Pou Klaing, Khemara Sereymon, Dub Addiction, Mr Kroen, PPS’s artist, DJ D’Tonn, Dj Chase, Dj Matoo, Dj Edwardowski, Dj Gorimaa etc.

Thanks to all volunteers and staff members who helped us make this event possible.

See you next year for the 4th Friendship Festival!
